We're just past halfway in the Bowl Round (21 of 40 games played and scored), and little has changed at the top. On top is AEOS (3,865 total/277 Bowl Round), 2nd is USM72 (3,795/298..70 behind), 3rd is Motley Blazer (3,721/288..144), and with the highest Bowl Round score in the Top 17 -- monarchfan91 (3,691/332..174) -- has moved up a spot into 4th.

With the possibility of getting 75 Bonus Round points, Motley could be in a virtual tie for 2nd.

So how can any of these contenders make up ground on AEOS? Aside from the good luck of hitting 50-point perfect margins and picking margins much better than AEOS, it must be on choosing winners different from AEOS. Reviewing the picks, I see that USM72 has chosen different winners in only 5 of the remaining 19 games (Miss. St., Navy, Georgia, Indiana & Tulane). Motley differs on only 4 picks (Illinois, Georgia, Ohio & USM), while monarchfan91 chose 6 winners that AEOS didn't (Miss. St., Kentucky, Navy, Oregon, Georgia and Ohio).

I'd think that USM72 and Motley would have to be correct on at least 3-4 of their differences to have a good chance to overtaking AEOS (barring other fantastic luck). And with no bonus points possible, monarchfan91 might need to get all 6 of his different picks correct.

Good luck to all!

I think those of us who picked Ohio State should get bonus points since not only did Ohio State have to beat Clemson, they had to beat the referees. Just saying.....

None of the contenders put pressure on AEOS in Monday's contested games. AEOS was perfect, picking Louisville and Cal, while USM72, Motley Blazer and monarchfan91 were each 1-1. (No one had any perfect victory margins in the first three games.)

Talk about, AEOS!

Both USM72 and monarchfan91 hit the Navy victory margin on the nose to gain significant ground on you. After 30 games (but 28 scored) USM72 is only 45 behind you and monarchfan91 moved into 3rd place, 125 points back. Motley Blazer dropped back to 4th, 172 points behind AEOS.

monarchfan91 has the second highest round total: 509. #19 Knucklehead has the best score (519), which vaulted him up from 28th.

On the other end of the scale, the three prolific bet-lockers have taken it on their chins. #71 djnnva has done the best -- 8 lock-wins and 20 lock-losses -- for a total of 121 round points. #31 Blazinrunner is 2-13 for 22 points and #62 BlazerEducator is 5-23 for -185. All the others who locked their bets had about the same luck: winning 2 and losing 15. Only 10 more games left.

Will AEOS hold off USM72? Can monarchfan91 make up enough ground to win?

Good luck to all!

Oregon's upset win in the Rose Bowl will give monarchfan91 28 points, moving him within 100 points of AEOS. A Georgia win in the upcoming Sugar Bowl will further narrow AEOS' lead over both USM72 and monarchfan91.

Only 7 games left in this horse race that's getting more exciting with every result.

Good luck to all!

Georgia wins by 12!! This result brings USM72 up to just 26 points behind AEOS, monarchfan91 to within 61 and Motley Blazer to 141 back.

USM is the only one of these 4 to pick Tennessee on Thursday. So if the Vols win, he would get closer, maybe even take over the lead.

On Friday, monarchfan and Motley chose Ohio, differing with AEOS and USM72; and USM72 and Motley picked Southern Miss, while AEOS and monarchfan chose Tulane. After that, their winners are the same, so scoring difference will depend only on their victory margin choices. Already, Motley seems to need several 50-point perfect-margin picks down the stretch.

Good luck to all!!
