Msg: Schard's lead is below 100 now. Next variance is in the quarterfinals: Monkey Phonics picks Tulsa, Schard has Marshall. They're totally different in the semis and championship game, too. (Shard has UTEP/UAB => UTEP; MP has Tulsa/Memphis => Memphis.) It should be an interesting weekend ... Schard will either pull away (again!) ... or Monkey Phonics could catch and pass him. Of course, ICB is lurking nearby, too. :-)

Msg: Houston's 1-point upset of Memphis has dealt Monkey Phonics a big setback. He'd picked the Tigers to win it all, which would have given him 120 points. Now, nothing.
(Six others on the front page of the leaderboard also had Memphis winning the tourney.)
Syracuse's loss to Georgetown knocks 12 of us out of Big East title contention. Left are 6 with Villanova, 4 with West Virginia and one each with Marquette and Georgetown.

Msg: Down goes Wisconsin... Tulsa isn't looking too good against UTEP, either. This may turn out to be a good day for me after all.

Msg: Indeed, Schard. But if Houston beats the Miners tomorrow, Cougar_Red will be only 51 points behind you.

Msg: CougarRed is destroying the C-USA tournament bracket... I'm just hoping UTEP comes out seeking revenge for their lone conference loss.
Regardless, this pickem will be decided in the NCAA tournament bracket. This is shaping up to be an exciting finish!

Msg: Read 'em & weep, Schard. Cougar_Red is nipping at your heels now:
UH hits 48% of their 3-point shots and storms back in the second half to defeat the Miners 81-73. In the last 4 minutes, the Coogs outscored UTEP 15-3, with 2-2 3pts, 2 layups after steals and 5-6 from the line. Impressive finish.
For the other conferences, Schard has chosen 4 #1 seeds to 3 for Cougar_Red. #2 seeds: 2 & 1; #3 seeds: 3 & 2, and Red picked one #4 seed (San Diego State) to win.
They differ on four conference picks: A-10: Xavier for Schard / Temple for C_R; Mountain West: BYU(OUT)/San Diego State; Pac-10: Calfornia / Ariz.State(OUT); and SEC: Kentucky/Tennessee . Kentucky leads by 13 at the half ... but then UTEP led at the half, too, if only by 5.
ICB can also make up some ground, since he's still has two #2 picks and three #3 picks active. One #2 (Kansas State) and two #3s (UNLV & Washington) are different from Schard's
You're right that it will come down to the NCAA picks. will he pick Houston to take it all? :-)

Msg: There is currently a 4-way log jam at the top. Also, after the Mountain West Championship, Schard will no longer be in 1st. Schard may be back before the Championship week is over, but for one night there will be a new #1.
