Illinois guard Nick Norton gives verbal commitment to UAB
headline pic point guard Nick Norton, an all-state selection and a state champion, has given a verbal commitment to sign with UAB this spring. Norton was recently offered by UAB and is currently on his official visit. Norton announced his commitment on Twitter Saturday morning.

UAB adds quarterback Evan Orth to 2014 recruiting class
headline pic Quarterback Evan Orth didn't know much about UAB a week ago. But it just took a phone call and a visit to determine where he wanted to play college football. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Orth got a call from UAB offensive coordinator Bryant Vincent last week and set up a visit.

UAB head coach Bill Clark names early leader in Blazers' quarterback race
headline pic UAB may find a starting quarterback sooner than later under first-year head coach Bill Clark. The Blazers have only had four spring practices, but junior college transfer Cody Clements has emerged as the No. 1 at this point. In fact, it didn't take long for Clements to ascend into that role.

Down two of its top players, UAB blasted by Charlotte in first round of Conference USA Tournament
headline pic UAB's stay in the Conference USA Tournament was a short and disappointing one as the Blazers lost 80-70 to Charlotte on Wednesday night. UAB wrapped up the season at 18-13 with the loss. Charlotte advances to play No. 1 seed Louisiana Tech on Thursday.
